Is your family traveling away from home for Thanksgiving this year? We all need thanksgiving travel tips. As you know, traveling is stressful but can be even more hectic with little ones. Here are some tips for making your Thanksgiving travel a little easier on everyone.

Get Organized: Make sure everyone has their own bag of tricks ahead of time. If your daughter needs her colored pencils or your son needs his teddy bear, they will be packed and ready to go when they are. Make checklists for essential items and have the kids check them off as they pack.

Snacks: Avoid cranky kids (well, moms and dads, too) by having plenty of snacks on hand during the trip. Things like string cheese and cups of applesauce are easy to munch on the go.

Activities and games: Who doesn’t love a good game of I-Spy? A smart phone or tablet are great for videos, movies and games to keep kids busy. Or, ask kids to take off their headphones and play an audio book that everyone will enjoy. It’s a good way to get the whole family involved and listening to something together.

Free personalized coloring pages from Frecklebox also make a great holiday activity! Just personalize, download and print at home. The kids can color on the way to Grandma’s house and their masterpieces will be ready for the fridge by the time you arrive.

Safe travels to all of our Freckle friends!
